Iceland's richest man in row with Central Bank of Iceland over Landsbanki fall
Iceland's richest man is in a spat with the country's central bank over the collapse of Landsbanki.
Bjorgolfur Thor Bjorgolfsson thinks the collapse of the Icelandic bank and owner of Icesave could have been prevented by a plan drawn up with the Financial Services Authority. . . .Bjorgolfsson claimed that the weekend before the bank was nationalised, the FSA met directors of the Central Bank of Iceland and Landsbanki to discuss a rapid relocation of Icesave deposits to a UK subsidiary, conditional on Landsbanki paying a £200million guarantee. 30-Oct-08.
