Depositors press Chancellor to offer them the same bailout promise he has given UK savers. Savers with money in Icelandic banks' operations in Guernsey and the Isle of Man are pressing Alistair Darling, the Chancellor, to offer them the same protection he has given to UK savers. 21-Oct-08

"Because the politicians feel that the depositors of Guernsey and the IOM are offshore and not voters, they think we can be forgotten. How wrong can they be, what they fail to realise (the politicians) is that for 15 year after our departure from the UK we are still able to vote in the area of our last UK registered address."
