Iceland investigators turn to SFO

Investigators looking into alleged corruption in the Icelandic banking system want to enlist the help of the Serious Fraud Office (SFO) and Europol.

Iceland has hired Eva Joly, a Norwegian-French investigating magistrate who specialises in complex fraud prosecutions, to advise the investigators and identify any evidence of corruption. The entire Icelandic financial system and its currency went into meltdown last October, after the government was forced to seize three of its biggest banks: Kaupthing, Landsbanki and Glitnir.  05-Apr-09.
